Level 3 (QCF) First Aid at Work Refresher (2 Day)
This course is suitable for anyone that has already completed a First Aid at Work (FAW) course within the last 3 years from date of certification of the award. This course is excellent in re-instilling confidence and up-to-date First Aid techniques back into the first aider, who may have had very little or no First Aid practice during the last 3 years, prior to the last course.
The course contents are based on the 3 Day – First Aid at Work (FAW) course, although many of the elements will be familiar to the learners, a full re-teach may not always be needed.
The main elements that will be focused on will be:
- Legalities, responsibilities and reporting
- Bandaging
- Chest injuries
- Assessment of the situation
- Heart attacks
- Sprains
- Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
- Choking
- Strains
- Fractures and spinal injuries
- Head injuries
- Burns
- Anaphylaxis
- Shock
- Asthma
- Control of bleeding
- Eye injuries
- Diabetes
- Resuscitation
- Poisoning
- Epilepsy
Throughout the course the learners will be tested and assessed by the instructor from First Aid and Trauma Trainer. On successful completion of the course, learners will receive a new โ3 Year First Aid at Workโ qualification.
It also a HSE requirement that first aiders keep up to date with current practices and legislation.
